Shanen joined the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) full-time in September 2023 after interning for the association in the Content and Marketing department.
Prior to beginning his professional career with the NBRPA, Shanen was a Graphic Design Intern for the Fighting Illini Football team, and the Creative Director for the Fighting Illini Men’s Lacrosse team.
The Maryland native received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design and his master’s degree in Strategic Brand Communication both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
